Ajay Devgn‘s sports biopic Maidaan has faced disappointment at the box office as it struggled to convert positive word-of-mouth into substantial footfalls, resulting in a poor 4-day weekend collection of approximately Rs 21.75 crore net.
Despite the Eid holiday boost, Maidaan failed to garner significant traction at the box office, opening to shockingly low numbers.The film’s first Sunday saw an estimated collection of 6-6.50 crore net, according to Sacnilk.
Despite receiving praise and recognition from industry stalwarts like Javed Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor, and former cricketer Sourav Ganguly, the film’s box office performance fell short of expectations. The positive reviews and endorsements from celebrities did not translate into robust ticket sales.

The film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh in pivotal roles. The movie clashed with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
