Major League Cricket witnesses unusual run-out as Finn Allen falls victim in a casual manner

NEW DELHI: The Major League Cricket (MLC) has been garnering attention from all quarters since the inaugural season kicked off a few days back. The latest incident that became the big talking point is San Francisco Unicorns‘ batter Finn Allen’s freak dismissal against the Seattle Orcas.
The Unicorns’ opener went hammer and tongs against Orcas before his casual approach resulted in him getting run out in a bizarre manner.

The incident happened in the fourth over when Allen tapped a Cameron Gannon delivery towards short mid-wicket to go for a quick single. But what followed next left Allen in complete disbelief after Shehan Jayasuriya exhibited remarkable alertness.
He swiftly seized the ball and executed a run out, catching the unsuspecting batter off guard. Allen scored 28 off just 10 balls studded with 4 fours and 2 sixes.
Talking about the match, Heinrich Klaasen delivered a scintillating innings of 53 runs off just 31 balls. His explosive performance played a pivotal role in leading the Seattle Orcas to a convincing 35-run victory at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.
Batting first, the Orcas displayed their dominance by posting a formidable total of 177/4 in their allotted 20 overs. However, the Unicorns struggled to keep up with the required run rate and were eventually bowled out for 142 runs in just 17.5 overs.
