Man dead in crash at Blackmans Point on NSW Mid North Coast

A man has died and another has been seriously injured in a car crash on the NSW Mid North Coast.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, died when the vehicle crashed into a power pole at The Hatch Rd in Blackmans Point — near Port Macquarie — about 2.45am on Friday.

A 41-year-old man was also in the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.

He was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital, then later airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.

The younger man has not yet been identified.

It is unclear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Anyone with information about the crash or dashcam footage from the area is urged to contact police.

The Hatch Rd at Blackmans Point is expected to remain closed for some time.

Local traffic diversions are in place.
