Man killed in head-on crash on Golden Hwy, Dubbo

A man has died in a head-on crash in Dubbo when his car collided with two other vehicles.

The 33-year-old’s sedan collided head-on with a ute before it was hit by a truck that was travelling behind the sedan on the Golden Hwy, about 22km east of Dubbo, on Wednesday afternoon, NSW Police said.

Emergency services were called about 4.20pm and treated the male driver of the sedan, but he died at the scene.

“The driver of the ute — a 17-year-old male — and his passenger — an 18-year-old male — were both treated at the scene and taken to hospital in stable condition, where the driver also underwent mandatory testing,” police said.

The truck driver, a 41-year-old man, was not injured in the crash.

He was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established as police investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Inquiries are ongoing.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
