Maruti Suzuki India today announced its overall sales of 189,082 units for August 2023, which is the highest-ever monthly sales of the manufacturer. Domestic sales stood at 158,678 units in August 2023 as opposed to 1,37,537 units in the same period last year, witnessing a growth of 13 percent.
The company reported sales of 5,790 units to other OEMs from 6,155 units in August 2023. Maruti Suzuki’s exports increased to 24,614 units last month as compared to 21,481 units in the corresponding period last year.
In the Mini and Compact segments, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 84,660 units in August 2023 against 93,719 units in August 2023. These segments include models, such as Alto K10, S-Presso, Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Swift, Ignis and WagonR. The mid-size Ciaz reported sales of 849 units in August 2023 as opposed to 1,516 units in the same period last year.
Coming to the Utility vehicles segment, the company registered sales of 58,746 units last month from 26,932 units in August 2023. The recently launched Fronx and the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza received an overwhelming response and have been on the list of top 10 best-selling cars in July 2023 as well.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco recorded sales of 11,859 units in August 2023 against 11,999 units in August 2022. In the Light Commercial Vehicle segment, the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry sales were at 2,564 units last month from 3,371 units in the same period last year.
