Asif Ali Zardari was officially sworn in as the 14th President of Pakistan, and now buzz is that his daughter Aseefa Bhutto Zardari will soon be announced as the First Lady of Pakistan, as per reports. If this happens to be true, then this would be a step against the normal traditions in Pakistan as normally the title of the First Lady is given to the wife of the President. Also, as per reports if Aseefa is announced as the First Lady she will be given all state protocols and priviledges which come along with this coveted designation.

Who is Aseefa Bhutto Zardari?
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari is the youngest child of Pakistan’s newly-elected President Asif Ali Zardari and his late wife and former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto, who was killed in 2007. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has two elder siblings– sister Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, and brother Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Born on February 3, 1993, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has studied from prestigious universities including: Oxford Brookes University, University College London, and the University of Edinburgh.

Aseefa made her debut in Pakistani politics in the year 2020 at a rally by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), of which her father Asif Ali Zardari is a co-chairman. She is also an Ambassador for polio eradication in Pakistan.
As a daughter of the President becoming the First Lady of Pakistan, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, will be creating history; meanwhile, her father too became the first civilian candidate in Pakistan to win the elections for the first time! It is noted that Asif Ali Zardari served as Pakistan’s President earlier from 2008 to 2013.
Like mother, like daughter
We mentioned earlier that Aseefa Bhutto Zardari is the late Pakistan PM Benazir Bhutto’s youngest daughter. And just like her late mother, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari too is born into a political dynasty in Pakistan.
Benazir Bhutto was a formidable figure not just in Pakistan but also in global politics. She was educated at Harvard and Oxford, and she created history by becoming the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan in 1988. Charismatic and resilient, Bhutto faced numerous challenges during her lifetime– including political opposition and exile. However, she remained a symbol of hope for democracy in her country. In 2007, her assassination during a public rally in Pakistan shocked the world.
