MG EXE181 electric supercar concept with fighter jet-like cockpit, drag parachute revealed

British carmaker MG Motor has taken the wraps off its EXE181 electric car concept ahead of its debut slated for Beijing Auto Show between April 25, 2024 to May 5, 2024. This stunning, head-turning electric hypercar is inspired by the EXE181 land speed record car. Here, let’s quickly take a look at what is known so far.
Speaking of the design first, it boasts a radical design that appears to have taken inspiration from fighter jets. The driver can be seen seated in a single-seat setup behind a panoramic windshield framed on a sleek, aerodynamic silhouette. In fact, the cabin does look like a fighter plane cabin with minimal work around. Moving to the rear, the model features a extended teardrop roofline ending on a sleek tailfin. As per the manufacturer, the drag coefficient of this car is just 0.181. For understanding, the drag coefficient of F1 cars range from 0.7 to 1.0.
While most of the specs for this model have been kept under the wraps, MG did reveal that the powertrain used (likely to be a four-motor setup), can propel this machine at a neck-breaking 0-100 kmph in just 1.91 seconds.

To handle the potential for record-breaking speeds, the concept will utilize a drag parachute, which serves to safely bring the car to a stop during top-speed record attempts.
We can expect the manufacturer to reveal more details about the concept when it is put at display at the Beijing Auto Show. As for its launch, the EV is still a few years away from going into the production line.
Expect more information to be revealed as the Beijing Auto Show approaches. So, stay tuned for a closer look at this electrifying concept and what it signifies for the future of MG.
