Microsoft Introduces New AI Enhanced Copilot Plus PCs To Compete With Apple

All the major laptop manufacturers such as Dell, Lenovo, Samsung, HP, and more are ready to offer Copilot Plus PCs.

The rivalry between Microsoft and Apple is a longstanding one, with both tech giants having revolutionised the technological landscape for decades. Now with the advent of Artificial Intelligence, a new race has started. To compete with Apple’s Macbook, Microsoft has recently introduced its AI assistant termed ‘Copilot Plus’ PCs. Microsoft has fused its Copilot into the Windows Operating system to create Copilot Plus PCs in order to revolutionize the PC market and to give a befitting reply to the Macbook. With the integration of AI in personal computing, Microsoft has enabled AI to have a photographic memory. The new laptops will be able to remember the user’s actions and will help in predicting the user’s next action.   Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, while addressing the gathering during the launch of its high-end AI tool – Copilot Plus, stated, “It’s a step toward machines that instantly see us, hear, reason about our intent and our surroundings.”

The good news for the users is that all the PC giants, who are associated with Microsoft, such as Dell, Lenovo, Samsung, HP, and more are ready to offer Copilot Plus PCs. This means that the users will be able to use the powerful AI tool very soon.

Copilot Plus Features: Window Recall

The new feature called Window Recall enables AI to have a photographic memory of a person’s virtual reality. This feature can track users’ complete activity and can give recommendations for new tasks that were based on their previous activities. User privacy will be maintained by having the option to filter out the tracking. Users will have full command over the information they want to be tracked.

To make the ‘Window Recall” function operational, Copilot Plus PCs will be equipped with neural processing units (NPUs). These Neural processors will make the PCs 58% faster than the M3 MacBook Air.

Integration with GPT-4o

Microsoft is determined to enhance AI capabilities in Copilot Plus PCs, to achieve this tech giant has decided to integrate Open AI’s GPT-4o, enabling users to utilize GPT-4o’s capabilities. Additionally, Windows 11 will have an AI-powered assistant to provide suggestions in the settings menu.

Updates to Surface Pro

The new Surface Pro is now expected to be 90% faster than its predecessor because of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon X Elite and Plus chips. It will also have an OLED display panel.

The new Copilot Plus PCs using Qualcomm processors will be available in the market from June 18. Models with Intel and AMD processors will be released later.
