Get ready to Moonwalk down to the West End as Broadway hit MJ the Musical is coming to the UK after an electrifying run in America. Some might even say it’s a real thriller.

The musical is headlined by overnight sensation Myles Frost, who, at 22, became the youngest person ever to win a Tony Award for his portrayal of Michael Jackson in 2022. This is a show that MJ fans simply cannot miss.

The show isn’t quite the standard jukebox musical that chronologically charts an icon’s life and career. Nor does it directly tackle any of the controversies that dogged the legend in his later years.

You can watch MJ The Musical’s rendition of Beat It on the YouTube video below – or jump straight to buying tickets below.

The production instead is centred around Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous world tour, framed around a series of rehearsals, interviews, encounters and reminiscences.

Of course, it still includes many of the singer’s best-loved hits such as Billie Jean, Beat It, Man in the Mirror, Thriller and Smooth Criminal .

Other cast members include Ashley Zhangazha as Joseph Jackson/Rob, Mitchell Zhangazha as Michael, Phebe Edwards as Katherine Jackson, Matt Mills as Berry Gordy and Rohan Pinnock-Hamilton as Tito Jackson/Quincy Jones.

And it’s not just the cast that are award-winning – this musical has a creative team stuffed to the brim with Tony award and Pulitzer prize winners. These include two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Lynn Nottage (Ruined, Sweat) and two-time Tony Award-winning Director & Choreographer, and Royal Ballet Associate Artist Christopher Wheeldon (MJ, An American in Paris).

One viewer from New York beamed “This was the best musical I have seen in a LONG time. I didn’t know what to expect, and it actually turned out to be a complete STORY with emotion, drama, love, loss, pain and joy.”

While Vallerie Guerra from Texas said “I laughed, cried, and cheered so loudly at the end I almost lost my voice. Numerous standing ovations and people of all ages from all walks of life enjoying and celebrating Michael’s life. I cannot say enough about this ridiculously talented cast and their unforgettable tribute to one of the greatest entertainers of all time.”

And Janey Richards simply stated, “The talent on that stage today- there are no words.”

MJ The Musical is at the Prince Edward Theatre on Old Compton Street from March 6th – buy your tickets here.
