Mom, dad, teenage daughter found dead in Dover estate

DOVER — Authorities here are investigating after a married couple and their teenage daughter were all found dead inside their residence Thursday night in an apparent “incident of domestic violence,” prosecutors said.

Police were called to the home at 8 Wilson’s Way around 7:24 p.m. by a relative who had stopped by the house to check on the family, Norfolk County District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey’s office said in a statement.

Wilson’s Way is a gated community on a tree-lined, secluded road with just a few handsomely maintained estates on it, according to an aerial view provided by Google Maps and on-the-ground reporting.

Officers discovered “an adult male, adult female, and their teenage daughter deceased,” the statement said.

Prosecutors withheld the names of the victims pending family notification.

“Although the investigation is at a very preliminary stage, the evidence available at this time does not indicate the involvement of any outside party, but suggests that this is a deadly incident of domestic violence,” the statement said.

Prosecutors said investigators do not believe “there is any ongoing danger to the Dover community related to this incident.”

Information on how the victims died wasn’t immediately available.

“Additional information is likely to be available by mid-day on Friday,” the statement said, adding that Dover and State Police had worked throughout much of the night Thursday to process the crime scene.

“Subsequent statement will be made through the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office,” the statement said.

Online town assessing records say the 27-room property has an assessed value of $6.79 million.

The current owner is listed as an LLC that foreclosed the property in November 2022, according to Norfolk County Registry of Deeds documents.

The street is nestled on a tony corner of the affluent town, a gated private way studded with stately homes sporting three-car garages and well-kept lawns about a five minute drive off Interstate 95. A country club and polo grounds are located just up the road.

The neighborhood was quiet Thursday morning as a light drizzle fell. One neighbor declined to comment, other doors weren’t answered.

The entrance to 8 Wilson’s Way was flanked by two lion statues and a sign welcoming people to “Enchanted Acres.” Beyond the cruiser, stone walls were visible that led to a home with white siding accented by green shutters. In the distance, more statues could be seen near the home.

It’s relatively new, having been built in 2000, according to assessing records. A police car was parked in front of the driveway Friday morning.
