Mother-of-two dies days after allegedly being stabbed in Warrawong

A mother-of-two has died days after allegedly being stabbed outside her home in Wollongong.

Kristie McBride suffered critical injuries, allegedly while attempting to break up a brawl on November 23 at Wegit Way, Warrawong.

Police called to the scene found the 39-year-old at the scene with stab wounds.

She was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a critical condition.

On Saturday, police were notified that McBride died in hospital.

A fundraiser launched to help support her family described her as having a “heart of pure kindness”.

“Anyone who knows Aunty Kristie knows she would do anything for absolutely anyone especially her family,” her niece said on the GoFundMe page.

“She’s just really kind, she loves her family,” another family member told 7NEWS.

An adult and six teenagers have been charged over the brawl.

Investigations continue.
