MotoGP 2024: Marc Marquez’s Ducati motorcycle version confirmed for next season

Eight-time world champion Marc Marquez is set to join Gresini Racing next season after ending his 11-year romance with Repsol Honda. During a build-up event for the Australian Grand Prix, the Spaniard has confirmed his Ducati machinery for the next season. To no one’s surprise, Marquez will be riding the current GP23 version of the Ducati motorcycle in the upcoming season.
The Cervera rider has struggled with injuries in recent years and even went on to consider retirement at a point. Nevertheless, with Ducati, even if handed a year-old Desmosedici, he’s got the skills and know-how to be a serious contender in the race for the title next year.

Recently, the 30-year-old led a group of 400 motorists to Phillip Island ahead of the Australian GP. Following the parade, a quick question-answer session was held in which Marquez confirmed that he will be riding the GP23 in 2024. The motorcycle is currently being used by the Factory Ducati team and Pramac Racing.
“Next year will be interesting. In the end, I will have the bike that is going to win this year’s Championship. I am going to have the 2023 bike, but I don’t know how the evolution of it will be.” said Marquez.
Not to mention, reigning champion ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia and his championship rival Jorge Martin of Pramac are riding the same version of the Ducati. Apart from the leading duo, their teammates Enea Bastianini and Johann Zarco are mounted on the same machinery.
It is interesting to note that while the afore-mentioned outfits will be getting an upgraded version of the motorcycle next year, Marquez, like Valentino Rossi’s boys, will have a full season’s worth of data at his disposal. Marquez’s move to Ducati is sure to shake up the MotoGP grid in 2024. The Spaniard is one of the fastest riders in the world, and he will be a contender for the championship on the Ducati.
The Bolognese outfit has already won the championship this season, and Marquez’s addition to the team could make them even more dominant in 2024. It will be interesting to see how Marquez performs on the Ducati. The Spaniard has spent his entire MotoGP career with Honda, so it will be interesting to see how he adapts to the new bike.
