Motorcyclist killed in collision with truck at Sydney intersection after running red light

A 38-year-old man has died after his motorcycle collided with a truck at a Sydney intersection in the early hours of Thursday morning.

He sped through a red light patrolled by police just after midnight, but sirens alone were unable to stop the man, who died at a separate intersection a short time later.

Police at the intersection of Maxwell Ave and Elizabeth Dr at Mt Pritchard “activated lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the rider” when he failed to stop at the red light at 12.10am.

“A short time later, the motorcycle hit a truck at the intersection of Dartford St and Horton St, Mt Pritchard.”

NSW Paramedics arrived, but the motorcyclist died at the scene.
