Mystery million-dollar lottery winner yet to claim prize days after win

A mystery Australian lotto winner set to pocket a cool $1 million is yet to come forward to claim their prize.

The division one windfall was secured on March 18’s Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw.

All the hard work has been done but the winner is yet to come forward.

Because the ticket is unregistered, officials have no way of contacting them.

The winning numbers for draw 4374 were 2, 4, 16, 27, 34 and 39. The supplementary numbers were 11 and 18.

The entry was bought from Gundagai Foodworks & LPO in Gundagai, a small town southwest of Sydney in NSW.

The store’s supervisor Katie Morris said earlier this week she was “in awe” realising their outlet had sold the million-dollar ticket.

“The mystery winner could be anyone walking around the town, or it could’ve been a visitor passing by,” she said.

A Lott spokesperson said they were “in the business of paying prizes” and wanted to unite the lucky player with their cash as soon as possible.

“Imagine how exciting it would be to realise you’ve won $1 million. Your plans for the rest of Easter and beyond would certainly change with that prize in your bank account,” she said.

Meanwhile, a Quakers Hill man has come forward to claim a $1.7 million Lotto Strike win from the weekend.

The player realised he’d won on Sunday, but waited until Wednesday before visiting The Lott headquarters.

“I was alone at home eating breakfast because my wife was away for the weekend. I thought I’d check my numbers while sitting at the breakfast table,” he said.

“I saw the first winning number and I said to myself, ‘Oh, I won a free ticket’. As I started to go down the ticket, I noticed I had another number and I said, ‘I won one hundred bucks’.

“It just kept going, and then I saw the fourth number and I started to yell.

‘She just kept crying’

“My poor dog jumped out of his bed and ran away. My little pupper was so scared but then he got excited.”

The winner said he waited until his wife was free before taking her on a surprise drive.

“As soon as we walked out of the lift, she immediately burst into tears. She just kept crying, and crying, and crying,” he said.

The man said the couple was going through a rough patch, “so this will really help us financially”.
