New Delhi: Terming the opposition gathering in Bengaluru as ‘Bhanumati ka Kunba’ that has no single leader, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Monday said that 38 parties will attend the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meet in Delhi on Tuesday.
The meeting comes in the backdrop of 24 opposition parties holding the meeting in Bengaluru to take on the BJP-led NDA in the run-up to the next year’s Lok Sabha election.
Nadda said, the scope and reach of NDA has increased over the past nine years. “The country has decided that in 2024 it will be the BJP that will win. Under PM Modi’s leadership, good governance has increased and people are tilted towards NDA.”
Under PM Modi, he added, the government has worked for all sections of the society including villagers, Dalits, women, farmers, youth among others. “Direct transfer is a hit. Rs 28 crore was sent to accounts directly.”
“NDA’s agenda is quite clear to take everyone along towards the path of nation building. We have not left anyone at any point of time. We have always maintained decorum and we have kept friendly relations with those who left. As our broader vision is ‘Sabka Vikas, Sabka Saath, Sabka Prayas’ for that larger cause. Now, they have to decide for that larger cause when they want to come (to join the NDA). This is not in our hands. We never extend an invitation to anyone. We merely tell the agenda. Do you want to stand with this or that…,” he added.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, Nadda termed the Opposition meet as a ‘good photo opportunity.
“Whom the opposition will make their leader is their issue. But this opposition alliance is a Bhanumati ka kunba (unlikely partners) they don’t have leaders, or vision, leader or the ability to take any action. We don’t fight elections on the weakness of others but on our strength,” he said.
“NDA alliance is not for power but for sewa and for working for the nation. The opposition alliance is Bhanumati ka kunba. Kahi ka eeth, kahi ka roda bhanumati ne kunba joda. Na inke paas neta hai, na hee neeyat. Niti aur na hee faisla lene ki taakat (They (opposition) are Pandora’s clan. They neither have the leader, nor the motive. Nor do they have the capability to make policy, or decide),” he added.
With the Lok Sabha election scheduled next year, both the opposition and the BJP are busy firming up their strategies and these meetings are a part of the larger strategy.
Nadda stressed on the fact that NDA’s agenda is to take everyone along. “Our ultimate goal is ideology. We will build on the work done in the last nine years. I am not permanent, party and ideology is permanent,” he added.
The BJP has been in talks with a number of parties who had left the NDA alliance earlier. Earlier in the day, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan met Union home minister Amit Shah and is expected to join the meeting apart from other leaders.
