New Joint Venture Agreement Signed between Lord’s Mark Industries and Kerala Government for Manufacturing Electric Two-Wheelers and Three-Wheelers

Mumbai-based Lord’s Mark Industries today announced a joint venture agreement with Kerala state-owned Kerala Automobiles Ltd (KAL) to manufacture electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers (including passenger and loader).

Under the joint venture, Lord’s Mark Industries and KAL will manufacture electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers at the Kinfra Park in Kannur, Kerala aiming for distribution across the country and have plans to export in key markets.
The manufacturing facility will be set up on 2 acres of land at Kinfra Park, Kannur provided by the Government of Kerala, according to the official statement. Further, it added that the construction of the manufacturing facility will be operational within 6-8 months.

“By leveraging our expertise in Electric Vehicles and KAL’s excellence in automobile manufacturing, we aim to introduce cutting-edge electric vehicles that will reshape urban mobility and reduce carbon footprint. This alliance with Kerala Automobiles Ltd (KAL) marks a significant milestone for the automotive industry and its pursuit of sustainable mobility solutions,” says Sachidanand Upadhyay, Founder and MD, Lord’s Mark Industries.

Besides, the company plans to roll out the Triton electric cycle on October 2, 2023, from the KAL facility at Thiruvananthapuram. The Triton electric cycle is powered by a 12 Ampere hour battery, offering a claimed range of 70-80 km, and a 250 Watts hub motor. It uses dual disc brake assembly and pedal-assist technology.
To support the initial sustainability and growth of the Joint Venture, the Government may consider giving subsidies to people of Kerala buying the electric cycle and electric vehicles, added the official statement.
