New Kia Sonet teaser reveals rear design, ADAS safety tech and digital instrument cluster

Kia is all set to launch the new Sonet facelift on December 14, 2023, and ahead of the launch, the carmaker has released a few teasers of the updated sub-4m SUV. The latest teaser video reveals the Kia Sonet facelift‘s rear-end design for the first time, while also confirms the introduction of ADAS safety tech as well as a fully digital instrument cluster.
The Sonet facelift will get new vertical tail lamps connected together with an LED strip running across the width of the tailgate, taking inspiration from the Seltos facelift launched in India earlier this year. However, unlike the elder sibling, the Kia logo on the upcoming Sonet facelift will be placed under the LED bar and not integrated into it.

Kia has also confirmed that the new Sonet will get ADAS safety features including Driver Attention Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking. What’s more, the facelifted version of the SUV will now be equipped with a fully digital driver’s display, measuring about 10.25-inches in size. Other features on offer will likely include a Bose premium audio system, an electric sunroof, wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, auto climate control, 360-degree camera and so on.
We expect the new Sonet to be offered with the same petrol, turbo petrol and diesel powertrains as the existing model. The current engine options include a 1.2-litre four-cylinder NA petrol motor making 82 hp; a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generating 118 hp power and a 1.5-litre diesel unit putting out 113 horsepower.
Stay tuned to TOI Auto for all updates on the Kia Sonet facelift’s launch later this month.
