Nita Ambani had THIS one condition before marrying Mukesh Ambani

While people might know Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita as the richest people in the country today, however, few people know that Nita Ambani hails from a simple and humble family. Before being married to Mukesh Ambani, Nita Dalal (which was her maiden name) was working as a school teacher and she was also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer. It was Mukesh Ambani’s parents, the late Dhirubhai Ambani and his wife Kokilaben Ambani who first saw Nita at a dancer performance.Impressed by her, Dhirubhai Ambani called up her father with a marriage proposal for his elder son Mukesh.
But did you know, that initially Nita wasn’t too sure of getting married to Mukesh? Yes, you read that right! As per reports, Nita was a bit apprehensive of marrying Mukesh Ambani as he hailed from a rich family, while she came from a humble background. Not just this, she also kept a condition before finally saying yes to Mukesh Ambani! It is reported that Nita wanted to continue working as a teacher even after marriage, and it was only after Mukesh agreed to it that she said yes.

In an earlier interview with Simi Garewal for her show ‘Rendezvous With Simi Garewal’, both Nita and Mukesh Ambani shared how Nita Ambani continued to work at a school for her love for teaching. “As soon as we married, the next year she was a school teacher,” Mukesh Ambani said in the video interview, a part of which is now doing rounds on social media. To this Nita Ambani added, “At Sunflower Nursery and it paid me Rs 800 per month.” Mukesh then jokingly said, “And all that salary was mine. It paid for all our dinners”. Recalling the incident, Nita Ambani further shared, “People used to laugh at me at that time, but I think it gave me a lot of satisfaction”.
Nita Ambani’s love for teaching was the driving force which later led her to set-up the Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai. In fact, her love for children and teaching is also passed on to her sister Mamta Dalal, who is also a teacher by profession!
