However, the bigger story is what this means for McBurnie and his future.
Having struggled to stay fit for a lot of his time at United, it now looks like another serious injury is going to hold him back.
Chris Wilder has spoken about having players who are fit and available next season and while he admires McBurnie a lot, he has a big decision to make.
