Orhan Awatramani aka Orry is a social media sensation, a global fashion influencer and Bollywood’s Gen-Z BFF. He has created a mystery around what he does for a living by saying, ‘I work on myself. I am a liver.’
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Orry recently shared the story behind his popular line. Narrating the story behind it, he shared that his friend Shanaya Kapoor was once busy on a film set.He called her, but she couldn’t answer because of her work. He insisted that he was also working and asked her to pick up the call. However, she pointed out that she was watching his Instagram stories and felt he wasn’t working but living. That’s when he realized the difference—he was a liver, living life, while she was an actor working on set. This realization became an “aha” moment for him.

Even prior to the widespread attention his interviews received, Orry had already become a favorite of the paparazzi, frequently photographed during various outings. While it’s common for celebrities to discreetly inform the paparazzi about their locations and then act surprised when spotted, Orry sees no issue in reaching out to them. He notes that with his noticeable giant blue Mercedes G Wagon, he doesn’t need to call the paparazzi when at a restaurant or arriving somewhere. However, he candidly admits to having called them on several occasions in the past.

Continuing his narrative, Orry recalled an incident at a dinner with Bhumi Pednekar and her sister Samiksha. Upon arriving at the dinner venue, they found the media present in abundance. Playfully questioning who had informed the media, Orry admitted, “It was me.” He explained that, at times, when he appreciates his outfit and appearance, he doesn’t mind calling the paparazzi to get photographed. Orry believes there’s no shame in it, emphasizing the preference to be photographed while entering a party looking great rather than leaving in a less flattering state. While he openly acknowledges calling the paparazzi on some occasions, he clarifies that most of the time, he hasn’t made such calls.

Orry’s mobile covers have gained considerable attention and sparked interest, featuring a diverse range of designs like the frog cover, banana case, sunny side up, and the famous cockroach case. The collection started when Orry’s close friend, also a reliable figure in London, noticed his phone cases falling apart. In response, Orry humorously suggested they need cases that will make headlines. This idea evolved into a joke, with his friend becoming the designated phone case stylist, turning Orry’s phone into a personality with a manager and stylist. Orry even jokingly predicts the possibility of his phone having its own Instagram page soon.
