Pakistani Bride’s Red Sari at Nikah Goes Viral

Pakistani brides typically do not wear saris and the traditional bridal attire in Pakistan is the bridal lehenga or bridal sharara, depending on the region and cultural influences. But historically, many women of that region wore saris (when it was a part of India) and may millennial Pakistani brides are going back to their roots and embracing the sari.We came across pictures of one such bride from Pakistan, who got married a few years ago and chose a traditionalred sari over a lehenga or sharara on her big day. Here’s a little throwback to the same.
For her nikah ceremony, the lovely bride Fajar wowed in a maroonish (dark) red sari. The sari had a zardozi border with golden polka dots on it. She paired the expensive sari with a sheer dupatta that served as a veil.

Fajar added a gold choker necklace, a raani haar, a maang tikka, matching jhumkas, a haath phool, gold kadas, and kaleeras to complete her bridal outfit.
In her glowing makeup, which comprised flushed cheeks and a bright red lip color, the stunning bride looked luminous.
We got in touch with the photographers behind the regal bride’s gorgeous pictures and they said, “Fajar is one of the most gorgeous brides we’ve worked with. The red sari she wore was an amazing idea, and something that we have never seen before,” said Rfsana (the team of photographers behind the pictures which are still breaking the internet after 4 years) in a statement to ETimes Lifestyle.
Simplicity is returning to the roots, isn’t it? And Fajar proved it right.
