Prashanth Neel reveals Prithviraj was first and only choice for Salaar | Hindi Movie News

It has only been a few hours since the release of Prashanth Neel’s Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire and word around the film is primarily positive. The fans can’t get enough of Prabhas, his aggression and his action. But amongst all the fanfare, there’s another actor who has made his presence felt in a big way and that is Prithviraj. He plays the antagonist in the film which revolves around the story of 2 friends who end up becoming enemies.

Speaking about his decision to cast Prithviraj, Prashanth Neel in an exclusive interview with ETimes mentioned that Prithviraj was the only name he had in his mind for the role of Vardharaja Mannaar.
Neel said, “ He was the first and the last choice I had for that role ..I was very lucky that he accepted to do something like this.We approached him and he was kind enough to agree.”
Neel also added that it was the success of KGF that made it possible for him to reach Prithviraj. He said , “ That’s what success gives you, it gives you an opportunity to have an audience with some of the best actors in the country and I got that opportunity thanks to KGF.”
Prithviraj in an interview mentioned that he was offered Salaar when KGF 2 was being shot and he had immediately agreed. But then Covid happened and he had got stuck in Jordan with a film’s crew and he was in a particular look for the film, which made him have a difficult conversation with the director, as he wanted to bow out of the film. But Prabhas and Neel worked around dates to accommodate Prithviraj.
