There’s good news for PS Plus subscribers, as Sony gets ready to officially unveil the Premium and Extra games for January 2024. After giving members the likes of GTA 5 and Final Fantasy Origins in December, Sony will announce the January line-up at 4.30pm GMT UK time on the afternoon of January 10. The next batch of PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium releases will be available to play less than a week later, on the morning of January 16.

Of course, there’s a good chance at least some of the games will leak ahead of Sony’s big announcement, so keep checking back for all of the latest news and updates.

Without any leaks to go by at the time of writing, fans have instead been attempting to predict the games line-up for January.

In the regular monthly predictions thread over on Reddit, multiple fans believe Forspoken will join PS Plus Extra later this month.

Launching around this time last year, the Square Enix action game was something of a critical and commercial flop. An appearance on PS Plus Extra would certainly boost the player count, and might encourage players to purchase the separate In Tanta We Trust DLC.

Other games with multiple picks on the predictions thread include strategy game Marvel’s Midnight Suns.

The turn-based strategy game was something of a surprise hit when it launched last year. It also has lots of add-on packs available to buy, which means 2K could still make money from sales.

“As The Hunter, your mission is to lead an unlikely team of seasoned Super Heroes and dangerous supernatural warriors to victory,” reads the official Marvel’s Midnight Suns description.

“Can legends such as Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Blade put aside their differences in the face of a growing apocalyptic threat? If you’re going to save the world, you’ll have to forge alliances and lead the team into battle as the legendary Midnight Suns.”

Other popular picks include Rollerdrome, Hades and Sifu, which always seem to crop up in the monthly predictions thread.

That’s on top of games like Tales of Arise, Tiny Tina’s Wonderland and Sony first-party title The Last of Us Part 1.
