The compact SUV scene in India shook things up like a storm, changing how people looked at cars. Now, it’s on the edge of another big change because Tata Motors is about to begin yet another revolution within the segment itself with the tiniest electric SUV in India, the Punch EV.
The electrified compact SUV will be launched on January 17 and the bookings have already commenced for a token amount of Rs 21,000.It will be offered in four variants, namely, Smart, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+. Here, let’s take a quick look at what all we know so far.
Tata Punch EV: Design
Tata Motors has given us a sneak peek into the upcoming EV, sharing details about its exterior and some intriguing features. Based on Tata’s Gen-2 EV architecture, it takes inspiration from the Nexon facelift in terms of design, especially in the full-width LED light bar in front. The bumper and grille design also echo the Nexon’s style. Notable features include split LED headlights in the front bumper, a new lower bumper with vertical strakes, and a silver faux skid plate.

There’s a good chance that the Punch.ev will cover a distance between 300 to 375 kilometers on a single charge, which is sufficient to eliminate any sorts of range anxiety, especially for daily commutes.
Tata Punch EV: Expected price
Since Tata Punch EV will directly lock horns with the Citroen eC3, we can expect the company to price-tag this model somewhere between Rs 11-13 lakh, ex-showroom as the carmaker eyes to further strengthen its dominance in the electric SUV segment in India.
