R Ashwin engages in heated chat with umpire at close of play on Day 1 | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Ravichandran Ashwin appeared visibly dissatisfied at the end of the first day’s play in the second India-England Test in Vizag. What triggered Ashwin to have a heated chat with umpire Marais Erasmus remains unclear.
As the stumps were drawn, Ashwin walked towards Erasmus to seemingly complain about something which left him upset while the England players were busy congratulating Yashasvi Jaiswal for his 179-run knock.
Ashwin faced the last over of the day delivered by leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed, showcasing aggression by executing an attacking slog sweep for a boundary on the penultimate delivery.

However, immediately after defending the final ball of the day, he directed his attention towards the umpire and began expressing dissatisfaction about something.
Talking about the match, Jaiswal batted through the first day of the match as India reached 336/6 at stumps against England on Friday.

Jaiswal scored a career-best 179 not out, including 17 fours and five sixes, as he anchored India’s innings after the hosts chose to bat first.
His impressive display was highlighted by the fact that no other Indian batter crossed the 40-run mark. The next highest score was Shubman Gill’s 34.
