Raiders’ Amik Robertson suffers gruesome head injury after taking knee to the helmet in brutal collision with Jets RB Breece Hall that left CB motionless and in ‘fencing position’

Amik Robertson was left in the ‘fencing’ position after suffering a nasty head injury in the Raiders’ game with the Jets on Sunday night.

The cornerback took a knee to the helmet as Jets running back Breece Hall tried to hurdle him near the sideline.

Robertson needed immediate medical treatment as he lay motionless on the floor – arms outstretched into the air. The ‘fencing’ position is typically a sign that someone has suffered a concussion.

Before long, Roberston was helped from the field – his arms around the shoulders of medical staff – before the Raiders ruled him out of the game with concussion.

The injury occured early in the second quarter of Sunday night’s game in Las Vegas, as Hall searched for a first down for the visitors.

Medical staff began tending to Robertson almost immediately as he lay flat on his back 

The running back was sprinting towards the Jets’ left sidline when Robertson came across to make the tackle.

While still travelling at full speed, Hall leapt into the air in a bid to evade Robertson. Instead, his knee snapped the cornerback’s neck back, with Robertson dropping to the floor immediately.

The cornerback’s teammates waved frantically to the Raiders’ bench, signalling that the 25-year-old needed treatment.

Jets medics began tending to Roberston within seconds as he lay flat on his back, seemingly knocked out cold.

Thankfully, he was awake before long and well enough to walk down the tunnel, albeit with the help of Raiders staff.

The 25-year-old, a native of Louisiana, played college football at Louisiana Tech before being drafted by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft. 

Robertson needed immediate medical treatment and was eventually helped from the field
