Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt tied the knot in April 2022. The couple had a very intimate wedding at their home in Mumbai but it was all things dreamy. From their mehendi to wedding to a fun after party – Ranbir and Alia made the most of it with their close friends and family. When the wedding took place, reports suggested that Ranbir had paid lakhs of rupees to Alia’s sister and friends for the ‘joota chupaai’ ritual.
However, the actor has now steered clear on this.He appeared on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show‘ where Kapil Sharma asked hi if it was true that he gave lakhs to Alia’s sisters! Denying it, he said, “No. That’s not true.” Ranbir’s mother, Neetu Kapoor who was also on the show with him, added, “We did give them some cash.”
Ranbir then recalled that memory and added that Alia’s sister did demand a couple of lakhs from him, however, he ended up bargaining and bringing them down to a couple of thousands.
Archana Puran Singh was shocked to know this and she quipped, “In thousand. So less.” Ranbir laughed at that and said, “Yes. The wedding happened at home. The shoes would still be at home. Take them if you want.”
Ranbir’s witty response left everyone in splits. But the highlight of the show was Ranbir recreating moments from ‘Animal’ with Sunil Grover who is back as ‘Dafli’. During the show, Neetu also showered praise on Ranbir’s parenting skills!
