Pistons great Rasheed Wallace says he and the 2004 Pistons made Warriors veteran Draymond Green who he is today, so it’s natural that he’s excited for all of Green’s accomplishments, especially the less prestigious ones.

Wallace recounted on the online sports talk show “Gil’s Arena” how Green used to spend a lot of time in the Pistons locker room during their championship season when he was younger. Green was a friend of then-Pistons general manager Joe Dumars’ son, and picked up a lot of habits from the team at the time, for better and for worse.

“That’s why he doing the bully s—t he doing now, in my opinion,” Wallace recounted with a laugh. “He caught all that s—t in our locker room. I love him, that’s my young fella. I love him to death.”

What really brought a smile to Wallace’s face was when one of the hosts of the show brought up the fact that Green is only 10 ejections away from tying the former Pistons star’s NBA career record with 29. Wallace began to fist pump in response as the host asked, “Will Draymond surpass you as the ejection GOAT?”

“Let’s. F—king. Go!” Wallace cheered. “We ain’t even at the All-Star Game yet! It’s going to happen.”

Warriors fans — and probably even the players on the team — might be less enthused about their hotheaded defensive anchor missing out on games this season in a particularly competitive Western Conference. No matter how excited Wallace is about the prospect of losing his record, Green should probably wait until the Warriors are in a comfortable spot before doing stuff that’ll get him suspended, as he is wont to do.
