Realme launched the Realme 12 Pro 5G series in India last month. The lineup included two models — the vanilla Realme 12 Pro 5G and the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G smartphones. The Chinese smartphone maker is expected to expand its smartphone lineup in the country with the launch of the new Realme 12+ 5G model. The company has officially teased the launch of the model in India through a post on social media platform X (earlier Twitter).

A microsite for the smartphone has also gone live on the company’s Indian website.However, the page does confirm the Realme 12+ 5G moniker but teases the model with the tagline: “One More Plus”. This suggests that the upcoming smartphone will be the Realme 12+ 5G model. The company also teased a green faux leather finish for the smartphone alongside “unseen 12 upgrades.” The company is also expected to launch a vanilla Realme 12 5G model, but there’s no official confirmation on it yet.

Realme 12+ 5G: What to expect

According to an earlier report by Nashville Chatters, the Realme 12+ 5G smartphone was listed on Geekbench and India’s BIS site with the model number RMX3867. These listings suggest that the smartphone will come powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset, backed with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. This chipset also powers other models like the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro.

The smartphone is expected to sport a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen. For photography, the Realme 12+ 5G may house a triple rear camera setup which is likely to include 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro shooter.
For selfies and video calls, the handset may feature a 16MP front snapper. However, the global variant of the smartphone is expected to get a dual rear camera unit with a 64MP primary sensor alongside an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The smartphone may pack a 5,000mAh battery unit and may weigh 190 grams.
