Over the past 13 years, the plant has produced approximately 20 models of Renault and Nissan vehicles. In addition to meeting domestic demand, the plant has exported over 1 million units to more than 108 destinations, including markets in the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia, SAARC countries, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Established in 2010, the Chennai-based Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL) is the first dedicated Alliance plant globally. In line with the Alliance investment plan, RNAIPL is preparing to manufacture six new models, three for each brand, in the future.
“We are confident that these cars, engineered and manufactured in India, will meet and exceed our customers’ expectations,” said Keerthi Prakash, Managing Director of RNAIPL, in a statement. Through the collective strengths, resources, and expertise of the alliance, they are set to introduce a range of new and improved vehicles, including advanced electric models, as highlighted by Venkatram Mamillapalle, CEO and MD of Renault India.
