Apple introduced AirTag in April 2021. According to the tech giant, AirTag is a small and elegantly designed accessory that helps customers keep track of and find the items that matter most with Apple’s Find My app. However, there have been rumors that Apple will release the AirTag 2 in 2025, rather than 2024 as previously believed. Leaker LeaksApplePro has suggested that the new tracker will come with “tons of new features,” including “3D Precision Finding.” It is also expected to go into mass production in the fourth quarter of this year. Current AirTag features include precision-etched polished stainless steel, water and dust resistance, a built-in speaker for locating the AirTag, and a removable battery cover. AirTag has been proven useful in reuniting users with their lost or stolen items and has aided in solving crimes. The technology works by using Bluetooth to send a signal to nearby Apple devices, which then send the AirTag’s location to iCloud through the Find My app. This process is anonymous, encrypted, and efficient.
