Fans attending a Robbie Williams concert in Perth on Thursday have fumed after enduring hours of gridlock driving into and leaving the entertainer’s show.

Thousands headed to Nikola Estate in the Swan Valley to hear a catalogue of the England star’s biggest hits — only to be hit by a traffic and parking “disaster”.

Cars were queued for hours and even charter buses were caught in the debacle.

Some fans gave up driving in and instead chose to park kilometres away from the venue before making their way over on foot.

With only one way in and out of the winery, it was just as hard for concertgoers to get home.

Event organiser Mellen Events is now scrambling to fix the situation ahead of a second show on Friday night.

“Regarding the traffic issues experienced at last night’s Robbie Williams concert, we share your disappointment and frustration,” the company said in a statement.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this caused; we acknowledge the traffic delays that people experienced were extremely inconvenient.

“We are currently working with the venue and the venue’s traffic management team to mitigate this for tonight’s show.”

It was a major dampener on what many lauded as a great performance by Williams.

“Was an unmitigated disaster for people getting in because of road works and planning — atrocious. An absolute maze in the dark, not enough people giving directions,” one fan said. “Got home just before 2am.”

Another concertgoer said “heads need to roll over the total disaster that was traffic management and planning”.

“Nikola Estate needs to put in a better road system if they intend to use this venue for large events again,” they said.

“You’ll all be hard-pressed to get punters back through the gates after last night’s event.”

A third said it was simply “not good enough”, adding: “People have to work and cannot get there early so plan better. After all, you are an events company.

“We have all paid a lot of money and I am sure you will be paid well so provide the expected service and safety.”

Williams is on his XXV Tour, described as a “joyous celebration” of his 25 years as a solo artist.
