Rohit Shetty, who is making his foray on OTT with Indian Police Force, recently revealed that there are no sex scenes, no vulgarity in his web show because he respects Indian culture and did not want to make his core audience uncomfortable.
In a podcast with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Rohit said that Indian Police Force does not even have cuss words, except in a couple of episodes where it was essential for the characters who are cops to speak in that way.
“Other than that, no sex, no vulgarity. Our Indian culture is different. We still have a lot of respect and we are known for that. Those who are making it are not doing anything wrong but mujhe apni core audience ko uncomfortable nahi karna hai. (I don’t want to make my core audience uncomfortable),” he said.

Talking about how he learned the importance of family-friendly films, Rohit shared that when he was at the airport, a lady came to him and thanked him for making Chennai Express. She told him that she has a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter and there is no time in the day since she has to finish household work. That is when she wakes up and she puts Chennai Express on to keep her daughter busy.

The filmmaker concluded saying that when they did OTT, they knew that they did not want any sex scenes or vulgarity and did not want to go overboard due to the absence of censorship. “I want Sooryavanshi’s audience to come and watch this show. That discomfort should not be there,” Rohit said.

Headlined by Siddharth Malhotra, Indian Police Force is billed as a homage to the relentless commitment of Indian police officers. It also features Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi in the lead. It also stars Shweta Tiwari, Nikitin Dheer, Rituraj Singh and Lalit Parimoo in pivotal roles. The show is set to release on January 19.
