Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 launched in India: Price, specs, features

Royal Enfield has launched the Shotgun 650 in the Indian market, with a starting price of Rs 3.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The company is now accepting bookings for the motorcycle on its official website and at authorized dealerships across the country. Deliveries and test rides are scheduled to begin in March 2024.

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 comes in four attractive color options: Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill, and Sheetmetal Grey. This custom-inspired motorcycle is built on Royal Enfield’s 650-twin platform and is positioned between the RE Super Meteor 650 and the RE Continental GT 650. Drawing inspiration from its predecessor, the SG650 Concept showcased at EICMA 2021, the Shotgun 650 boasts a retro-futuristic design.

Key features of the RE Shotgun 650 include an LED headlamp, a digi-analogue instrument cluster with the Tripper navigation system, and the newly launched Royal Enfield Wingman in-app feature. This feature allows riders to stay updated on the motorcycle’s live location, fuel and engine oil levels, service reminders, and more. Additionally, the motorcycle is equipped with a USB charging port, a flat handlebar, mid-set footpegs, and a single-seat setup.

Under the hood, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is powered by a 648cc, parallel-twin, oil-cooled engine, similar to the Super Meteor 650. This engine produces a maximum power of 46 hp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox for smooth transmission.

In terms of suspension, the Shotgun 650 features 43 mm Showa upside-down forks at the front and five-step adjustable rear shock absorbers at the rear. The bike rides on 18/17-inch tubeless tires, providing stability on various terrains. With a wheelbase of 1,465 mm, the motorcycle offers a comfortable riding experience.

For braking, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is equipped with a 320 mm front disc brake and a 300 mm rear disc brake, ensuring efficient stopping power.
