San Jose Public Library kicks off $7 million fundraising effort

Library Giving Week

Library Giving Week is April 7-13, and it marks the first major fundraising effort of the year for the San Jose Public Library Foundation. The foundation’s goal is to raise $7 million annually to support more than 30 educational, child development, workforce development, community and civic engagement programs.

Despite serving the largest population among 30 public library systems in the Bay Area, the San Jose Public Library ranks 26th in per capita government funding at $50.10. The third-ranked Santa Clara County Library system’s per capita funding is $158.58.
