Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently talked about replacing Parineeti Chopra with Rashmika Mandanna in ‘Animal’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor. The filmmaker also revealed that prior to this, he wanted to cast the actress as Preeti in ‘Kabir Singh’ too.
In a chat with film trade analyst Komal Nahta, Sandeep Reddy Vanga mentioned that he had signed Parineeti Chopra for the project about one and a half years before shooting commenced.However, he noted that he couldn’t see Geetanjali, the character, in her. Taking responsibility, the Kabir Singh director explained that certain characters don’t align with specific actors, expressing his preference for instinct over auditions. He conveyed his admiration for Parineeti’s acting skills from the very beginning.

Sandeep expressed his desire to cast Parineeti as Preeti in Kabir Singh, a plan that didn’t materialise. He described it as a long-overdue collaboration, emphasizing his longstanding wish to work with her. Sandeep recounted apologizing to her, clarifying that the film took precedence over individual roles. Despite Parineeti feeling disheartened, she comprehended the reasons behind his decision.
