The pacer has already flown back to Bangladesh to process his US Visa ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 which will be held in the Caribbean and the United States from June. Mustafizur has been in ominous form with the ball and hence he would be missed by the CSK side.

“Mustafizur arrived last night from the IPL for US visa purposes for the upcoming T20 World Cup. He will be giving his fingerprint at the US embassy tomorrow (April 4) and later will travel back to India to join Chennai,” BCB cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus confirmed to Cricbuzz on Wednesday.

Also, once he is back – he will only be part of the IPL till the end of April. In case, CSK make it to the playoffs, they may miss his services. Mustafizur would join the national side ahead of their five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe which starts on May 3.

“His NOC for the tournament runs till April 30 and we are expecting him to back after that from IPL,” Yunus added.

The Bangladeshi pacer picked up seven wickets in total in three IPL games in 2024, which includes a four-wicket haul against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He then picked up two wickets against the Titans in CSK’s second match of the season. However, he was expensive in the game against the Capitals, his former IPL franchise, as he conceded 47 runs from his four overs for one wicket.
