The Jamba Juice outpost at Stonestown Galleria is facing a lawsuit for allegedly owing thousands of dollars in unpaid rent, according to recent court filings.
Stonestown Galleria filed an unlawful detainer lawsuit at the Superior Court of California for San Francisco County on Friday, claiming that Jamba Juice is responsible for $21,304.69. A spokesperson for Jamba Juice stated that the storefront at 3251 20th Ave. is independently owned and operated and added that “Jamba does not comment on pending litigation.”
According to court documents, Stonestown Galleria gave notice to Jamba Juice for failing to pay rent starting in May 2023. On July 12, Jamba Juice received a 10-day notice to “pay rent or quit,” with a total owed amount of $41,304.69. The lawsuit mentioned that Jamba Juice made a $20,000 payment after receiving the notice but still owed $21,304.69.
Stonestown Galleria is demanding that Jamba Juice pay the remaining $21,304.69 in rent, along with $346 for each day it has remained on-site after July 26, when the “pay rent or quit” notice expired.
In 2016, Jamba Juice signed a 10-year lease to open on the ground floor of Stonestown Galleria. The store is still operating. SFGATE attempted to reach out to Stonestown Galleria for comment but received no response by publication.
