I don’t know a single person who doesn’t picture Shay Mitchell with long, dark brown hair when she comes up in conversation. It’s been her signature look for years. But because of that go-to style, I often think she doesn’t get enough credit for being one of our generation’s most prolific beauty chameleons. But I had forgotten just how drop-dead gorgeous she looks with auburn hair until her stylist so conveniently reminded me today.
Dimitris Giannetos shared a stunning photo of the actor and entrepreneur on Tuesday, December 12, writing, “New COWBOY COPPER hair color for stunning @shaymitchell.” Cowboy copper is one of the biggest trends right now, thanks to its warm, golden-brown take on auburn that makes red feasible and flattering on anyone — and fabulous on Mitchell.
“I wanted to create the iconic cowboy copper color because it highlights Shay’s features and makes her eyes pop so beautifully,” Giannetos tells Allure, noting that he used L’Oreal Paris Superior Preference in the shade 6R. As for styling the look, “I used Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo to give some extra texture,” he explains. “I finished by using the Dyson Airwrap styler to create some gorgeous and fluffy waves.”
