The incident, which saw two unidentified individuals firing rounds at the actor’s residence left angry fans questioning the efficacy of security given to the actor since receiving multiple death threats over the past year.Taking to X, fans of the Bollywood superstar slammed the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and questioned the Mumbai Police on the security lapse.
“What is going on? where is security @mieknathshinde,” a fan handle commented on a video showing a Police forensic analyst circling a bullet hole on the actor’s building wall.

Amidst the angry tweets, others put out a request to the police to quickly nab the individuals. One wrote, “Dear #MumbaiPolice arrest them as early as possible and arrest the mastermind of this attack quickly.
We’re praying for the safety of our beloved megastar #SalmanKhan.”
Another said, “@CPMumbaiPolice @MumbaiPolice we want strong protection for Salman.”
In the wake of the shootout, social media platforms were flooded with messages of support for the actor, accompanied by calls for swift action to ensure the actor’s safety. Taking to their handles, fans expressed their concerns and asked Salman to ‘stay safe’. A fan wrote, “Police and forensic team present on the spot. Stay safe Salman sir.”
“We Love you Bhai #SalmanKhan! Stay Safe,” said another.
According to police reports, at around 5 am, two assailants fired rounds outside Salman Khan’s residence. Three rounds were fired in the vicinity, prompting a rapid response from the Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch, who immediately launched an investigation into the matter.
“Today at around 5 am, two unidentified people opened fire outside the house of actor Salman Khan in Bandra. Police have received information about 3 rounds of firing. Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch has reached the spot for investigation,” stated a Mumbai police official.
According to February 2024 reports, security measures for the Bollywood superstar underwent significant enhancement owing to persistent death threats. The Mumbai Police implemented Y-plus security for Salman, a measure that was further fortified following a fresh threat in November 2023. Security measures were heightened early this year to also include the actor’s family, including his brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma.
Salman, who has remained under constant security surveillance, since receiving a death threat from Lawrence Bishnoi‘s gang, recently acquired a bulletproof vehicle for his protection.
The actor, who has been maintaining a low public profile, most recently kept up with tradition to make an appearance on the occasion of Eid, to greet his adoring fans who had gathered outside this house.
