Snakes found in a man’s pants at Miami International Airport in the US

Snakes have been discovered in a man’s pants at a US international airport.

The discovery was made by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents at a security checkpoint on April 26.

A bag was detected, hidden in the passenger’s pants, at Miami International Airport in Florida — the nation’s most southeastern state.

TSA agents called in Customs and Border Protection and Miami-Dade Police partners to assist them, and the snakes were turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Photos of the hidden creatures shared by TSA show two small pale snakes in what appears to be an Oakley sunglass bag.

The snakes may be palmetto corn snakes, as tentatively identified by social media users.

The species is rare but popular with collectors.

Corn snakes are illegal in Australia and are considered a prohibited invasive animal.

It is unclear where the passenger was travelling, or why they were carrying the snakes.
