Mates Day is fast approaching on May 8, and Snapchat and Gelato Messina have teamed up to add a sweet twist to the occasion.
To commemorate what both companies call “the essence of friendship”, Gelato Messina will be offering free scoops of a special gelato flavour, named Oh Snap!, across stores nationwide.
The collaboration aims to encourage friends to come together in person and create lasting memories over delicious gelato.

Oh Snap! is a limited edition flavour inspired by the classic Australian vanilla slice, reimagined with a modern twist by Gelato Messina. Featuring layers of vanilla custard gelato, tangy passionfruit puree and crunchy caramelised puff pastry.
On Mates Day (May 8), starting from midday, customers can visit any Gelato Messina store, show the Snapchat app on their phone and enjoy a complimentary scoop of Oh Snap! gelato.
Additionally, Snapchat enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the festivities at the Gelato Messina Surry Hills store in Sydney, which will be transformed into a Snapchat-themed haven. Visitors can indulge in fun experiences, snap memorable moments and receive exclusive Snapchat merchandise.
To add an extra dose of fun to Mates Day celebrations, Snapchat has also introduced a new Lens dedicated to the occasion. Users can engage with their friends near and far by sending snaps adorned with the Mates Day Lens, enhancing the festive spirit on their Snapchat streaks.
The limited edition flavour will only be available while stocks last at all stores across Australia, excluding Tasmania and the NT.
