Toyota has released a new teaser image of the 2024 Land Cruiser, giving us a glimpse of the SUV’s nose. The image shows the front of the 2024 Land Cruiser in front of an FJ62 Land Cruiser, indicating that Toyota drew inspiration from the beloved previous generation. The new model features dual rectangular lights, similar to the old model, and an egg-crate grille with the iconic “TOYOTA” block lettering. The rest of the bumper follows a blocky and beveled design, surpassing the Lexus GX on which it is based. The Land Cruiser’s rugged appearance suggests it will be ready for off-road adventures.
Based on the Lexus GX, the 2024 Land Cruiser (likely known as the Land Cruiser Prado in other markets) will have capable off-road underpinnings. It will utilize the TNGA-F body-on-frame architecture with independent front suspension and a coil-sprung multilink solid rear axle. Expect features like four-wheel drive with a low range, a locking rear differential, Toyota’s Kinetic Dynamic Suspension, and Crawl Control. The powertrain remains somewhat uncertain, but it may offer a twin-turbo V6 hybrid, like the GX, or potentially four-cylinder engines, similar to those found in the Tacoma.
The Land Cruiser will be officially revealed on August 1, at 9:20 pm Eastern time. Stay tuned to Autoblog for more details on this highly anticipated SUV.
