Ever since reports stated that Steven Yeun joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it has been trending and making news for all the right reasons. However, the actor will not be appearing in the Marvel film, as per the report by the Hollywood Reporter.
While earlier rumors in February suggested Yeun’s inclusion, the casting was never formally confirmed by Marvel. The report stated that Steven will not be suiting up for the movie, though a reason hasn’t been given. Delays due to the strikes in Hollywood seem like they might be a possible reason.
Reportedly, the film’s original July 2024 release date has been pushed back to July 2025. The delays have complicated casting decisions and production timelines, perhaps influencing Yeun’s decision to drop out of the movie.
Thunderbolts is set to feature Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as the Red Guardian, Hannah John, Kamen as Ghost, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
Meanwhile, Yeun is part of a comic book franchise as the voice star of Amazon’s ‘Invincible’, an adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic.
