Melbourne’s Maurie Plant meet – a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold Level event – brings together some of the best athletes in the world on a thrilling night at Lakeside Stadium.

All eyes will be on Australia’s fastest woman with 19-year-old Torrie Lewis set for an epic showdown against New Zealand’s Zoe Hobbs in the Women’s 100m.

The Kiwi ran a stunning 10.97-second at the 2023 Sydney Track Classic, while Lewis broke the Australian record with a 11.10 in Canberra last month.

Australia’s longest international endurance race gets underway this weekend with the Bathurst 12 Hour at Mount Panorama.

The once around the clock race brings together some of the best GT teams in the region with big-name Supercars drivers and international stars headlining the field.

The likes of Broc Feeney, Will Brown, Chaz Mostert, David Reynolds switch their Supercars for international manufacturers while seven-time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi and seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner Craig Lowndes also get behind the wheel for the big race.

Coverage begins on Saturday live & free from 12:30pm AEDT with qualifying and the Top Ten Shootout followed by the race from 5:30am AEDT on Sunday morning.

The FIH Pro League continues as the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras take on the world’s best hockey nations in India.

The Kookaburras look to continue their winning form with matches against India and reigning champions the Netherlands next. The men’s side are two from two so far with shutout wins over China (2-0) and Ireland (5-0).

The Hockeyroos will also face India and the Netherlands in their next two matches as the hustle continues for prominence in the women’s standings.
