Meet Jeffree, Sundar Pichai’s seven-year-old Labradoodle, who is often seen at Google.On April 30, Pichai posted two pictures of his cute furry friend with the caption “Best work partner!”
This is not the first time that Pichai has posted about Jeffree. In fact, he often posts pictures of Jeffree on social media with his followers. For instance, last year Pichai posted a picture of Jeffree and other furry friends at Google.
In another post on National Dog Day last year, Pichai shared a picture of some ‘Dooglers’ at Google. His caption read, “Seeing #dooglers at the office is definitely a highlight of returning to campus! Thanks to Diana, Peter, Carter, Chris, Olivia, Juan, Tatiana, and Traci for sharing these pics:) #nationaldogday #teampixel”
It is noted that Google has a dog-friendly policy according to which its employees are allowed and encouraged to get their pets at work for over 20 years now– especially at Googleplex headquarters in California, USA.
Studies have shown that having a pet has many health benefits like:
1. Companionship: Dogs are known for their loyalty and affection, and they are excellent companionship providers. Thus having a pet dog can reduce feelings of loneliness for people.
2. Better mental health, reduced stress levels and relaxation.
3. Owning a dog often means more physical activity by being playful or going on walks with them.
4. Many pet dogs have protective instincts and so they can serve as effective watchdogs too.
5. Emotional support: Pet dogs are intuitive creatures that can sense their owner’s emotions. They are great at providing comfort, unconditional love, and emotional support to their owners in difficult times.
Meanwhile, apart from Pichai other top CEOs also often get their furry friends to their workplace. This includes Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg who owns a Puli named Beast, and Tesla, SpaceX and X CEO- Elon Musk who has a pet Shiba Inu named Floki.
