Suniel Shetty has never shied away from showing his affection towards KL Rahul ever since the cricketer married his daughter Athiya Shetty on January 23 this year. The actor has always said that he considers KL Rahul as his son and admires him for his simplicity. But when it comes to choosing his favourite cricketer, Suniel has a different preference.
When Suniel was recently in conversation with Niharika NM at Money Control’s Creator Economy Summit, she asked the actor to name his favourite cricketer. To which, Suniel replied, “My favourite cricketer… today’s time… definitely Virat Kohli.
A shocked Niharika then took a dig at KL Rahul saying, “Man, KL, better luck next time.” To which, Suniel replied, “KL is my son, you know, when it’s family, you don’t talk about family.”
Niharika then asked, “What is Ahan then?” And Suniel replied, “Family. But he’s an actor, he’s not a cricketer. My favourite cricketer is Virat Kohli because he’s a master of chasing. That’s the first time that you feel when you’re at home and ‘dhak dhak’ isn’t happening.”

A few days ago, Suneil dropped a new picture with his son-in-law KL Rahul. In the picture, the actor could be seen hugging and twinning with his son-in-law in a black t-shirt. Soon their friends and fans swamped down the comment section and dropped red hearts and fire emoticons. Athiya also dropped a red heart emoticon.
On the work front, Suneil will be next seen in the comedy film Welcome To The Jungle alongside Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and Raveena Tandon. KL Rahul, on the other hand, is currently the part of Indian Cricket World Cup 2023 team.
