Sydney Dog Attack Leaves Owner and Beloved Pet Critically Injured, Resulting in Pet’s Tragic Death

A beloved pet dog tragically passed away after being involved in a horrifying dog attack while out for a walk with its owner in Sydney’s south. Elle Booth and her Jack Russell terrier, Indi, suffered serious injuries when they were viciously attacked by two Irish wolfhounds in Lugarno on Sunday. The incident occurred at Boggy Well Creek off Booyong Ave around 9am when the two dogs attacked. Indi managed to flee into the Georges River to hide, but Booth, trying to save her dog, became trapped in the mud surrounding the river, and that’s when the wolfhounds attacked. The Jack Russell underwent surgery for its critical injuries but unfortunately passed away later that day. Booth also had to undergo surgery for her injuries. The incident has left Booth and her husband physically and emotionally scarred, as Lugarno was chosen specifically for its bush trails and locale near the Georges River so that Indi could explore the area on daily walks. Witnesses who saw the attack unfold called emergency services for help and when police arrived, they had to use pepper spray to disperse the aggressive dogs. The owner of the two dogs has yet to come forward, and investigations are ongoing as police search for him, potentially facing fines and jail time. The local council is working with the police and will determine what happens to the two wolfhounds involved in the attack. The council is urging any witnesses to come forward to assist with the investigation and reminding residents to exercise responsible pet ownership to ensure the safety of the community.
