Other images show the backyard completely overgrown, with rubbish strewn across the yard.

The property was advertised as a “land value opportunity in a prime location”.

“Available for the first time in more than 60 years, now offering a rare opportunity to purchase at land value in one of Burwood’s most highly desirable streets,” the listing read.

One of the main selling points, according to the listing, is the property’s location in Burwood.

The home is within easy access to some of the area’s leading schools and only 750m from Burwood railway station, major shopping, cafes and restaurants, the listing read.

Internal inspections were not permitted before the auction because the home did not meet health and safety requirements.

The median house price for a three-bedroom home in Burwood is $2.05 million, according to data from Domain.
