Take a seat, Ola S1: Ather Rizta electric scooter’s ‘biggest in segment’ seat teased |

Bengaluru-based EV startup Ather Energy has teased its upcoming electric scooter, the Rizta, this time focusing on its comfort credentials. The company’s CEO, Tarun Mehta, shared an image on social media comparing the Rizta‘s seat to one of the leading electric scooters in the market, the Ola S1‘s, boldly claiming the former to be the “biggest in market.”
For the unversed, Ather Energy is planning to launch its first-ever family scooter, which has also been spied testing already.A larger seat translates to more comfort for both the rider and pillion, making it suitable for carrying passengers or cargo. As seen in the image shared by Mehta, the upcoming model will get a wider, single-piece seat as compared to other market rivals.

Ather 450 Apex Review: Most exciting electric scooter yet! | TOI Auto

As seen in the spy shots and details shared by Mehta so far, the design choices suggest Ather’s intent to cater to a broader audience seeking a comfortable and functional electric scooter for daily commutes or family outings. Besides that, the company seems to have also worked on one of the major issues the customers of Ather 450 series faced – lack of space.
At present, performance specifications for the model are undisclosed. However, speculation suggests that it will boast improved range and performance compared to its stablemates, potentially due to the employment of a new battery and motor setup. While the official launch date remains undisclosed, Ather has confirmed the Rizta’s debut at the upcoming Ather Community Day 2024.
